Notes for your next job

Keep a Daily Tasks Notebook for your yearly employee review

Many company’s require that you have a yearly review to determine how much of a raise you will receive.

I strongly recommend that you keep a DAILY notebook and write the date at the top of the page, along with some small notations of what you did that day.  You’ll then be able to go back and look at that notebook and come up with your accomplishments that you can discuss at your review with your supervisor.

It’s amazing how we’re asked to do small things that in reality are BIG things when it comes time to review your salary and what you did over the past year.  And it will come in handy to look at if you ever change jobs.  You’ll vividly remember that incident about “working with those other Executive Assistants” and how they were all amazed that you got such and such task done so quickly when you were under such a tight deadline.  We tend to totally forget those things.  It may seem small but that little daily notebook will be invaluable one day.
